Naomi Byrne
Senior Associate
An Army brat who has spent most of her life in Texas, Naomi found her way into the affordable housing industry after graduating from Texas A&M in the mid-90s. She discovered a passion for the industry, working her way up from determining resident eligibility to being the Executive Director/ CEO of several different public housing authorities (PHAs). In her last role as President of Fort Worth Housing Solutions, Naomi helped guide the Board in developing the agency’s first strategic plan in over 15 years, focusing on not only the challenges faced by a transition in leadership, but the agency’s proposed plan to fully convert the balance of public housing through the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.
With a career that has been spent working to ensure that quality housing is affordable to families of all demographics and income levels, Naomi now works closely with PHAs across the country to come up with innovative and creative ways to maximize operational efficiencies while still managing affordable housing that can be sustained and maintained for decades to come.
Naomi is also a trainer for NAHRO and the Texas Housing Association, has been a presenter and panelist at several conferences, and has been a Board member for several affordable housing organizations. In her free time, she provides housing for homeless animals through a non-profit rescue she founded dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Border Collies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
